If a man received ₹ 1080 as dividend from 9% ₹ 20 shares, find the number of shares purchased by him.

Solution

Income on one share = `(9)/(100) xx 20`

= `"Rs." (9)/(5)`
∴ No. of shares = `1080 xx (5)/(9)`
= 120 × 5
= 600
