Solution

Given: `4 cot^2 45^circ - sec^2 60^circ + sin^2 60^circ + p = 3/4`

cot 45° = 1

⇒ cot2 45° = 1

⇒ 4·cot2 45° = 4

`cos 60^circ = 1/2`

⇒ sec 60° = 2

⇒ sec2 60° = 4

`sin 60^circ = sqrt(3)/2`

⇒ `sin^2 60^circ = 3/4`

Substitute: `4 - 4 + 3/4 + p = 3/4`

`3/4 + p = 3/4`

⇒ p = 0
