Solution

The axis of the earth is an imaginary line that runs through the earth from the north pole to the south pole. It is the line around which the earth rotates, causing day and night. The earth’s axis is tilted at an angle of 23°30′ from the line perpendicular to its orbital plane. This tilt is responsible for the changing seasons and variations in the length of day and night throughout the year. The two ends of the earth’s axis are called the north pole and the south pole.
