The population growth rate is calculated using the following formula:
Growth Rate = (Birth Rate − Death Rate) ± Net Migration Rate

- Death Rate = Number of deaths per 1,000 people per year
- Net Migration Rate = Difference between people entering and leaving the region
Example:
If the birth rate is 25, the death rate is 10, and net migration is + 2 per 1,000 people, then:
Growth Rate = 25 − 10 + 2 = 17
