Vulcanization is carried out by heating natural rubber with 3-5% sulphur at 110°C for about 20-30 minutes. During this process, sulphur forms cross-links between adjacent hydrocarbon chains present in natural rubber. The rubber thus obtained is called vulcanized rubber.
