2. Length Always short, simple, and direct, focusing only on key points. Usually longer and more detailed, often including explanations and background information.
3. Format Always includes ‘From’ and ‘To’ to show sender and receiver. Rarely uses ‘From’ and ‘To’; instead, the proper addresses of the sender and receiver are written.
4. Salutation & Closing No salutation (like Dear Sir) and no complimentary close (like Yours faithfully). Always includes a salutation at the beginning and a complimentary closing at the end.
5. Formality Less formal in tone, as it circulates only inside the organisation. More formal and polite, especially when sent outside the organisation.
