Solution

In favourable conditions, Amoeba reproduces by binary fission.

  1. The parent Amoeba grows and its nucleus divides into two daughter nuclei.
  2. The cytoplasm then divides, separating the two nuclei into different parts of the cell.
  3. The parent cell splits into two approximately equal daughter Amoebae.
  4. Each daughter Amoeba grows and can later divide by the same process.

One parent Amoeba thus gives rise to two daughter individuals.
