Solution

Total number of fishes in a tank

Number of female fishes = 8

Number of male fishes = 5 + 8 = 13

∴ Total number of outcome = 13

For a male fish

Number of favourable outcomes = 5

Probability of getting a male fish = `"Number of favourable outcomes"/"total Number of outcomes"`

= `5/13`
