Solution

Barium Chloride Test: Adding BaCl2 solution forms a thick white precipitate of Barium sulphate which is insoluble in any dilute mineral acid.

\[\ce{H2SO4 + BaCl2 -> BaSO4 ↓ (White ppt.) + 2HCl}\]

Action on Copper: Heating concentrated sulphuric acid with copper turnings evolves a pungent gas (sulphur dioxide) that turns acidified potassium dichromate paper green.

\[\ce{Cu + 2H2SO4 (conc.) ->[\Delta] CuSO4 + 2H2O + SO2 ^}\]
