Solution
The Rajputs fought against the Mughals to protect their independence and preserve their sovereignty. While Akbar maintained friendly relations with them, Aurangzeb followed a harsh policy. After the death of Rana Jaswantsingh, Aurangzeb annexed Marwad, which led to resistance from Durgadas Rathod, who protected Jaswantsingh’s son, Ajitsingh. The Rajputs opposed Mughal control to defend their honor, traditions, and right to self-rule.
