Solution
- The Amazon River flows in northern Brazil, and it covers roughly two-thirds of the country.
- The equator also runs through this region, therefore the climate is hot and rainy all year. It experiences convectional rains. Trees thrive in such environments.
- However, the climate, heavy rainfall, dense forests, and other factors impede the establishment of human settlements. Consequently, the interior of the Amazon Basin is fairly sparsely populated.
Thus, due to the Amazon River, significant rainfall, ample sunlight, hot and humid temperature, and very few human settlements which imply minor intervention of human, the northern half of Brazil is covered by dense forests.
