Give examples of a few stimulating drugs and their effects on the body.

Stimulants include caffeine, cocaine and amphetamines. They stimulate the nervous system and may increase alertness and activity. Cocaine can cause excitement and increased self-confidence; amphetamines may keep a person awake but can impair judgement and cause blurred vision. Excessive use may lead to dependence, restlessness or hallucinations.
