Solution

Nature of Product Name of a Foreign
Company
In India before
or after 1991
Biscuits Mondelez/Cadbury Before 1991
Shoes Nike After 1991
Computers Dell After 1991
Cars Toyota After 1991
TV and Refrigerators LG After 1991
Stationery Faber-Castell After 1991

Explanation: Cadbury, now part of Mondelez India, has operated in India since around 1948-49, so it was present before the New Economic Policy. Most of the other examples entered India after the 1991 economic reforms. Nike began selling in India in the mid-1990s; Toyota and LG established their Indian operations in 1997; Dell entered India around 2000; and Faber-Castell established its Indian presence in 1997.

Conclusion: The New Economic Policy of 1991 made it easier for foreign companies to enter and expand in India. Therefore, many multinational companies in products such as shoes, computers, cars, electronics and stationery entered India mainly after 1991.
