Solution

The First Battle of Panipat was fought in 1526 between Babur and Ibrahim Lodi. The main causes were Ibrahim Lodi’s unpopular rule and internal conflicts among Afghan nobles, some of whom invited Babur to invade India. Babur also wanted to establish his empire in India. At Panipat, Babur’s small but well-trained army used effective cavalry and artillery tactics against Lodi’s large force. Ibrahim Lodi was defeated and killed along with many soldiers. As a result, Babur captured Delhi and Agra and laid the foundation of the Mughal Empire in India, marking the end of the Delhi Sultanate.
