Question

Give a scientific reason.

The construction of turbine is different for different types of power plants.

Give Reasons

Solution

  1. Generators produce electricity on the principle of electromagnetic induction and therefore require continuous rotation.
  2. This rotation is provided by turbines. Different power plants use different energy sources, such as steam, flowing water, wind, or gas, to rotate the turbines.
  3. Since the nature, pressure, speed, and flow of these energy sources are different, the turbines must be specially designed to operate efficiently with each source.
