Solution

Tropical cyclones are more common in the Bay of Bengal than in the Arabian Sea because the Bay of Bengal provides favorable conditions such as higher sea surface temperatures and a larger area of warm water for cyclone formation. Also, the Bay of Bengal is more enclosed, which helps in the intensification of cyclones, and cyclones often originate near the Andaman Islands and move west or northwest over the Bay of Bengal. In contrast, the Arabian Sea is more open and has less frequent local conditions conducive for cyclone formation. This difference in geographical and oceanic conditions makes tropical cyclones more common in the Bay of Bengal than in the Arabian Sea.
