  2. Chlorous acid (HClO2) is obtained by treating barium chlorite with dilute sulfuric acid.
  3. Chloric acid (HClO3) is prepared by treating barium chlorate with dilute sulfuric acid.
  4. Perchloric acid (HClO4) is made by electrolysis of a solution of sodium perchlorate.
  5. All acids are generally prepared by acidifying their corresponding salts.
