Formation of the Committee

An Education Committee was formed in our class with an equal number of boys and girls as representatives. The committee discussed the needs of the class and prepared the following report.

Facilities in the Classroom

The committee discussed the facilities required for a good learning environment. It suggested that the classroom should have sufficient benches and desks, proper lighting and ventilation, working fans, a clean blackboard or whiteboard, a dustbin, a notice board, charts, maps and other educational materials. The classroom should also be kept clean and well arranged.

Proposal for Setting Up a Small Class Library

The committee proposed setting up a small library in one corner of the classroom. A cupboard or bookshelf may be used to keep books. The library may contain storybooks, biographies, dictionaries, general knowledge books and other useful reading material. Students may contribute books with the permission of their parents. A register should be maintained for issuing and returning books, and student librarians may be appointed on a rotational basis.

Organising a Sports Competition

The committee also proposed organising a sports competition for the class. Events such as running, relay race, kho-kho, kabaddi and skipping may be included. Boys and girls should get equal opportunities to participate. The events should be conducted under the supervision of teachers, with proper rules, sports equipment, drinking water and first-aid facilities. Winners may be given certificates or small prizes.
