For a radioactive substance, the relation between half-life (T) and decay (disintegration) constant (λ) is:

T = `(ln 2)/lambda`

T = `0.693/lambda`    ...[Since, ln 2 = 0.693]

Where,

T = Half-life

λ = Decay constant

This shows that half-life is inversely proportional to the decay constant.
