Sum

Solution
Transposing to the other side,
y − 3y = `2/3 - 1/6`
Taking L.C.M,
− 2y = `2/3 - 1/6`
= `(2 xx 2 - 1)/6`
= `3/6`
= `1/2`
∴ − 2y = `1/2`
⇒ 2y = `-1/2`
dividing by 2 or both sides,
`(2y)/2 = -1/2 xx 1/2`
⇒ y = `-1/4`
