Solution

Given: 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm

Step-wise calculation:

Largest side = 5 cm   ...(Hypotenuse)

32 = 9

42 = 16

⇒ 32 + 42 = 9 + 16

⇒ 32 + 42 = 25

52 = 25

Since 32 + 42 = 52, Pythagoras’ theorem holds for these sides.

Yes, the sides 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm form a right-angled triangle with the right angle between the 3 cm and 4 cm sides.
