2y2 − y + 2 = 0

2y2 − y + 2 = 0

For the quadratic equation,  ax2 + bx + c = 0

D = b2 − 4ac

Here, 

a = 2, b = −1, c = 2

D = (−1)2 − 4 × 2 × 2

= 1 − 16

= −15
