Let the required third proportional be x
∴ ₹1.60, ₹0.40, ₹x are in continued proportion.
⇒ 1.60 × x = 0.40 × 0.40
⇒ x = `(0.40xx0.40)/1.60`
⇒ x = 0.1
∴ Required proportional = 0.1
