Solution
The given values are x + 3, x + 5, x + 7, x + 9, x + 11
We know the mean is given by,
Mean = `"Sum of the elements"/"Total number of elements"`
Here, the number of observations = 5.
`"Mean" = ( x + 3 + x + 5 + x + 7 + x + 9 + x + 11 )/(5)`
= `(5x + 35)/(5)`
= `(5 (x + 7))/5`
= x + 7.
