Question

A and B are partners sharing profits in the ratio of 3 : 2. C is admitted as a partner. The new profit-sharing ratio among A, B and C is 4 : 3 : 2. Find out the sacrificing ratio.

Old Ratio = A : B = 3 : 2

New Ratio = A : B : C = 4 : 3 : 2.

Sacrificing Share = Old Ratio − New Ratio
A's = `3/5 - 4/9 = 7/45`

B's = `2/5 - 3/9 = 3/45`

Sacrificing Ratio = A : B
                           = `7/45 : 3/45 = 7 : 3`
