Every state in India has representatives in both Houses of Parliament. Uttar Pradesh has 80 members in the Lok Sabha, who are directly elected by the people. It also has 31 members in the Rajya Sabha, who are elected by the state’s elected legislators. Therefore, Uttar Pradesh has 80 Lok Sabha representatives and 31 Rajya Sabha representatives, giving the state an important role in the country’s law-making and decision-making process.
