Solution

For the reaction

\[\ce{2ICl_{(g)} + H2_{(g)} -> I2_{(g)} + 2HCl_{(g)}}\]

The average rate in terms of the concentrations of reactants and products is

Rate = \[\ce-{\frac{1}{2}\frac{d[ICl]}{dt}}\]

= \[\ce{-\frac{d[H2]}{dt}}\]

= \[\ce{\frac{d[I2]}{dt}}\]

= \[\ce{\frac{1}{2}\frac{d[HCl]}{dt}}\]
