Solution

Series Connection:

When two or more resistors are connected end-to-end consecutively, they are said to be connected in a series combination.

The same current flows through both resistors.

The total voltage divides across each resistor (V = V1 + V2).

Equivalent Resistance (Rs) = R1 + R2

Parallel Connection:

When two or more resistors are connected simultaneously between the same two common points, they are said to be connected in a parallel combination.

The voltage across both resistors remains identical.

The total current divides into different branches (I = I1 + I2).

Equivalent Resistance (Rp):

`1/R_p = 1/R_1 + 1/R_2`
