Solution
When an emulsion is subjected to centrifugation, it breaks into its constituent liquids due to the high centrifugal force. This process is called demulsification. The dispersed droplets coalesce and separate out, allowing the individual components of the emulsion to be recovered as distinct layers. Thus, centrifugation effectively separates the two immiscible liquids forming the emulsion.
