Solution

Some Forms of Political Violence in India:

  1. Linguistic Violence: People often feel proud of their own language. But sometimes this love turns into anger against other languages, causing fights. For example, protests for Hindi or against Hindi/English have turned violent in some states.
  2. Secessionist Violence: Some groups in states like Jammu & Kashmir and the North-East want to break away from India. They use violence and terrorism to force their demands and create fear.
  3. Terrorist Violence: Terrorists use fear and violence to harm India’s peace and political stability. States like Jammu & Kashmir suffer due to cross-border terrorism supported by neighboring countries.
  4. Caste Violence: Some caste groups attack others, especially over reservation issues. High caste vs. low caste tensions often lead to fights and riots, particularly in states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
  5. Politics of Violent Agitations: Political parties and groups sometimes organize strikes, bandhs, and protests. These can turn violent with burning of public property like trains and buses.
  6. Social Violence: This includes violence against women like domestic abuse and female foeticide. It also includes violence based on religion or caste. Discrimination adds to this problem.
