Stunting is a condition in which a child’s height is lower than the expected height for their age due to long-term undernutrition. It occurs because of inadequate nutrition, repeated infections, poor feeding practices and lack of proper healthcare. Stunting affects physical growth, brain development and learning ability of children. It can be prevented through a balanced diet, proper infant feeding, hygiene and healthcare.
