Solution
- Political empowerment: Political empowerment entails providing women more representation in legislative bodies and decision-making processes. At the moment (17th Loksabha), just 14% of M.P.s are female. The 73rd and 74th Amendment Acts provide for 33% reservation for women in local self-government organizations. This allows women to play an important role in policy formulation and implementation at the local level. In India, women have equal access to all political rights, including the right to vote, the franchise, and so on.
- Social empowerment: Literacy education, training, and employment can all contribute to social empowerment by boosting understanding about rights and opportunities, the absence of domestic abuse, access to information, health care, and sanitation. It includes societal programs that promote gender equality. In India, projects to empower women include the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana (2015), which supports the Training and Employment Programme for Women (STEP). Mahila Shakti Kendras (2017) and so forth. The WCD Ministry was established as a distinct ministry in 2006 to develop gender-equal legislation.
