Solution
- The Krebs cycle was proposed by Hans Krebs; therefore, it is named the Krebs cycle. It is also known as the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle or the citric acid cycle.
- Acetyl coenzyme-A enters the mitochondria and participates in a series of cyclic chemical reactions known as the Krebs cycle.
- These reactions bring about the complete oxidation of acetyl coenzyme-A and produce carbon dioxide CO2, H2O, NADH2, FADH2 and ATP.
