Solution
When light from an object strikes the front surface of a thick glass mirror, some of it is reflected there, forming a faint image. Most of the light enters the glass, is reflected by the silvered back surface, and emerges through the front surface to form another image. Some light is reflected again inside the glass, producing further, fainter images. Hence, a thick glass mirror forms more than one image; the image formed by reflection at the silvered back surface is the brightest.
