Solution

A vestigial organ is an organ or structure in an organism that has lost all or most of its original function through the course of evolution. These organs were functional in the ancestors of the organism but are now reduced in size and either non-functional or have a very limited function. The presence of vestigial organs is considered strong evidence for organic evolution because they demonstrate the inheritance of traits from ancestral species in which these organs were once useful.
