Solution
In hockey, a semicircle called the shooting circle is marked 14.63 metres in front of the goal. A goal is only counted if the ball is touched within this circle by either an attacker or defender before it goes in. Fouls committed inside the shooting circle are treated more seriously. If a defender commits an intentional foul there, a penalty stroke is given. For an unintentional foul inside the circle, a penalty corner is awarded.
