Solution 1
A violation means an infraction of the rules. A violation occurs when players break the rules in a way that does not involve contact.
Solution 2
Stepping out of bounds or losing the ball beyond the boundary is also considered a violation, as it leads to loss of possession. Actions involving contact between opponents or unsportsmanlike behaviour are known as fouls, usually referred to as personal fouls.
