Solution
In badminton, a “drive” is a fast, flat shot that travels directly over the net, parallel to the floor, and is typically executed with a quick, sharp stroke. Unlike other shots that focus on height or drop, the drive is characterized by its speed and low trajectory, making it a powerful tool in both offensive and defensive play.
The primary purpose of a drive is to maintain or seize control of a rally by applying pressure on the opponent. Because the shuttlecock moves rapidly and stays low to the net, it forces the opponent to react quickly, often limiting their options to a defensive return. Drives are usually played from the mid-court or near the net and can be directed straight or cross-court, depending on the player’s strategy and positioning.
