Solution

  1. By 1760, the rulers who brought Myanmar (Burma) under a single rule had conquered Manipur and also gained control over Assam. This event led to the first war between the British and Myanmar.
  2. The rulers of Myanmar fined two British citizens living there. Using this reason as a pretext, the British invaded Myanmar and captured some of its territory.
  3. The third Burmese war took place due to Myanmar's King Thibaw's growing relations with France and the fine he imposed on a British trading company. After this war, the British took complete control of the whole of Myanmar.

In this way, three wars were fought between the British and Burma with the purpose of protecting British-controlled territory and acquiring the territory of Myanmar.
