  1. In register indirect addressing, the address of the operand is contained in a register pair.
  2. The H–L register pair is used to hold the 16-bit address of a memory location.
  3. These instructions are usually 1-byte long.
  4. For example, ADD M adds the data from the memory location pointed to by the H–L pair to the contents of the accumulator.
