Its work is organized on several levels (local, national, and international) to prevent environmental degradation. It aims to create awareness and drive policy-making on issues like sustainable energy, protection of forests and biodiversity, severe effects of pollution and degradation of air, water, soil etc.

  2. Significant international cooperation is seen in this field, with movements mainly aimed at reducing or preventing environmental degradation.
  3. The environmental movements in India take up issues such as biodiversity protection, water sources, forest protection, and green belts. Also, preventing river pollution and reducing the use of chemicals and their harmful effects, etc.
  4. For e.g., Dr Rajendrasinh Rana brought about the ‘Water Revolution’ in Rajasthan. He formed an organisation, ‘Tarun Bharat Sangh,’ which worked to build 11,000 Johads in hundreds of villages.
