Solution
Social perception refers to the way individuals form impressions and make judgments about others based on limited information. When people categorize others into social groups (such as race, gender, or religion), they often rely on stereotypes, oversimplified and generalized beliefs about members of those groups. These stereotypes can distort perception, leading to biased interpretations of behavior and reinforcing existing prejudices. For example, if someone expects a particular group to be aggressive, they may perceive neutral behavior from a member of that group as threatening. This selective perception strengthens and sustains prejudiced attitudes.
