Solution

The tennis forehand is a stroke where the palm side of the dominant hand holding the racket faces forward. It is played by swinging the racket across the body toward the intended direction of the ball.

Steps to take the forehand Short:

  1. As the ball comes toward you, maintain an open stance position.
  2. Rotate the hips, shoulders, and arms during the backswing.
  3. Begin uncoiling the body, allowing the dominant arm to drop down to help produce topspin as the body moves toward the ball.
  4. Continue the rotation and swing the racket upward, over, and through the ball to make contact.
  5. The chest and head should be facing the net at contact.
  6. Follow through by extending the arms forward and then across the body toward the non-dominant side.
  7. Finish the stroke with the body weight shifted to the left leg (for a right-handed player) and the racket near the left shoulder.
