Solution

The relative majority vote victory system or the simple majority vote victory system are the most widely used principles when determining who is deemed the victor of an election. According to it, the victor is the candidate who receives more votes than all of the other candidates running for office in the constituency. Assume, for instance, that five candidates, A, B, C, D, and E, are running for office. Each contender receives the following percentage of the 10,000 votes cast: A. 1,000, B. 1,500, C. 3,000, D. 2,700, and E. 1,800. Since C received more votes than any other contender in this scenario, he wins the election. Another name for this system is the first past the post system.
