1. The Assamese believed their culture was becoming degraded to the point that they would become a minority in their own state as a result of the flood of Bangladeshi migrants entering their state.
2. Additionally, they believed that migrants were taking advantage of limited resources like land, water, and jobs, which left the natives the Assamese people in a situation of scarcity.
