Solution

One rainy night, the poet’s mother is stung by a scorpion. that crawls into their home. Although she is in agonising pain, she endures it and restricts her movement so as to prevent the venom from spreading quickly throughout her body. As time passes by, the pain becomes so severe that she groans in pain and is unable to utter even a single word. Finally, after an excruciating 20 hours, she finds relief as the venom wears off. Being deeply religious, she first and foremost thanks God that she was chosen to bear the pain of the scorpion’s venom and her children were spared. The poet’s mother silently endures a long spell of pain, all because of her selfless, unconditional love for her children.
