(9.4)2 = (10 − 0.6)2      ...[10 − 0.6 = 9.4]

(a − b)2 = a2 + 2ab − b2

= (10)2 + (0.6)2 − 2 (10) (0.6)

= 100 + 0.36 − 12

= 88 + 0.36 

= 88.36
