Solution

We have,

Each edge of a metal cube measures 3 cm and it weighs 5 kg,

Now we know that,

Volume of a cube is (Edge)3

Then, the volume of the cube is (3)3 = 27 cm3

That is 5 kg of metal cube carries 27 cm3

1 kg of metal cube carry `27/5 cm^3`

Then, 40 kg of metal cube carries `27/5 xx 40` cm3 = 216 cm3

(Edge)3 = 216 cm3

(Edge) = 6 cm

Therefore, the length of another cube of same metal is 6 cm.
