Solution
Steps of Construction:
- Draw a circle of radius 3.5 cm with centre O. (In a regular hexagon, the radius of the circumscribed circle is equal to the side length.)
- Mark a point A on the circumference of the circle. With A as the centre and radius 3.5 cm, cut an arc on the circle to get point B.
- With B as centre and radius 3.5 cm, cut another arc to get point C.
- In the same way, using the same radius (3.5 cm), mark points D, E, and F on the circle.
- Join A–B, B–C, C–D, D–E, E–F, and F–A. Then ABCDEF is the required regular hexagon.
- The same circle drawn with centre O and radius 3.5 cm is the circumscribed circle of the regular hexagon.
