Steps of construction:
- Draw a line segment AB = 7 cm.
- With A as centre and radius more than half of AB, draw arcs, one on each side of AB.
- With B as centre and same radius as before, draw arcs, cutting the previously drawn arcs at X and Y respectively.
- Now join XY, meeting AB at O. Thus, XY is the perpendicular bisector of AB.
